A LETTER FROM A LOVING DAD TO HIS SON.
Happy 40th Birthday to my son / hero
Happy birthday to a wonderful son that is sorely missed by all. There is not a day that passes that I don’t think of my son and his young life that was taken prematurely. Please remember that he gave all as a Soldier serving with the USArmy during Operation Iraqi Freedom KIA 05-26-07. RIP Son
A WRITTEN NOTE
From A Retired Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer
I don’t know CPL Millard personally. I actually sold a book on the internet to his Aunt Elizabeth Millard. She told me the story of this tragic death of a wonderful hero and patriot. I served 20 years in the Navy and was involved in several wars and conflicts during my tenure with the Navy. It saddens me to see a loss of a great man and one that is my son’s age as well. My son also is serving in the USN. I would like to say God bless CPL Millard and his family as well. My prayers and thought are with you.

ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS
Can’t Believe it’s been 6 years Shortie
Well Shortie we talk daily as you know. Time seems to slip by so quickly. Your pops wacked his noken and your mom got her b… kissed by your dad in the accident. They are very tough you know but it knocked some sense in your pa and I think he is slowing down abit finally and your mom is finally getting him to listen and I understand she is okay but still sore. Thank God your brother didn’t have to take over the store before his time. Could you imagine Jason having to run that big place. He’d go nuttier than you were. But you know he is doing great and has a great fiance. I know you poke them occaisionally when least expected just to let him know you are watching. Well tomorrow is another Thanksgiving without you kiddo, but you’ll be in alot of prayers from her to around the world. Don’t have to remind you how many friends you have scattered everywhere. Continue to keep them all in stitches wherever it is you are traveling to and one day we will all meet up again. God Bless You Shortie for you gave for this Great Country meanwhile we will continue to fight the fight. Love and Miss Ya Soldier. Uncle Butch and Aunt Liz , Becky & Matt. 11/28/2013
FORT ROSECRANS MEMORIAL DAY CELEBRATION
Join the Millard Family this Memorial Day 2025
The Fort Rosecrans Memorial Day celebration has been one of San Diego’s most significant and cherished traditions, honoring the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country to remind us all that freedom is not free.
The government does not fund this powerful event; it is entirely self-funded and organized by the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery Support Foundation, a coalition of Gold Star families, veterans’ organizations, and patriotic groups who have upheld this tradition for generations.
To hold services, the event requires $25,000 annually to cover the costs of staging the ceremony, including setup, permits, and essential services that make this event possible for veterans, families, and the San Diego community. We ask for your donation to ensure that we can continue to honor our fallen heroes and support their families, preserving the legacy and memory of those who served, like our son and brother, CPL Gregory N. Millard, aka “Shorty”, US Army
